11/02/2020 · What is the difference between ninja and samurai? Samurais were warriors who usually belonged to noble classes of Japanese society. Ninjas were trained as assassins and mercenaries and usually belonged to the lower classes of Japanese society.And vice versa is the same for ninja, and their study of budo and samurai culture and martial arts. And many times samurai were ninja, and ninja were samurai. And so while there is sort of that black and white distinction, there is a lot of overlap and a lot of grey area as well, when it relates to samurai versus ninja.
